Medicare has high deductibles for hospitalizations and pays only a portion of doctor bills. A serious illness could cost you thousands of dollars. A Medicare supplement insurance policy covers most of your out-of-pocket expenses. There are a variety of plans from which to choose
Plan F -- Medicare Part A (hospital) and Part B (doctor) payments would be covered by Medicare and your plan.
Plan G -- With Plan G, you pay the doctor deductible each year. This is a one-time payment. The deductible is $185. This is the only difference between Plan F and G.
Plan N -- You pay the doctor deductible, up to $20 per doctor visit and up to $50 for emergency room visit. This plan is designed for those willing to take additional responsibility for routine health care expenses in exchange for lower premiums.
Original Medicare Consists of:
Part A -- (Hospital) and Part B (Medical Insurance). Part B is generally referred to Doctors or Physicians;
Part C (Medicare Advantage Plans) --
These are run by a private insurance company and usually include prescription coverage
